Call for PhD proposals for seminar at UPF, Barcelona - Youth participation in cultural institutions

On behalf of the consortium of CoREM: Collective Remembrance: Engaging Youth Through Curatorial Practices, a European Commission-funded project coordinated by Universitat Pompeu Fabra, we would like to share an open call for PhD students interested in participating in our closing seminar, which will take place in Barcelona on 8 April 2027.

CoREM explores how young people can engage with remembrance, museums, curatorial practices, and education around genocides and political violence. The closing seminar will bring together scholars, practitioners, and cultural institutions to reflect on intergenerational and intersectoral collaborations with young people.

We would like to invite two PhD researchers to present work that is relevant to the project, especially research related to childhood and youth studies, museums and cultural institutions, participatory or curatorial practices, intergenerational knowledge, and young people’s engagement with difficult histories.

We will be able to cover accommodation for up to three nights and travel costs of up to 300 EUR.
